Nicholas Shindell’s work is mainly comprised of imagined portraiture. Having studied figurative and landscape painting, he maintains a deep interest in the practice of realism and observational painting.  However, his work has become a mixture of illusory and stylistic portrayals of objects he acquires
 and their related ephemera.
Shindell is a visual artist residing in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Boston University.
